60-year-old Milwaukee driver killed after teen fleeing police crashes

A 60-year-old driver died Tuesday in a crash following a police pursuit of another vehicle taken in an armed robbery, Milwaukee police said.

The vehicle pursuit began in the area of ​​North 17th and West Galena streets around 5:41 p.m. and ended in the area of ​​North 20th and West Galena streets, according to police.

The vehicle taken in the robbery and pursued by police collided with another vehicle carrying a 60-year-old driver, who died at the scene, and an unidentified passenger, who was taken to hospital with serious injuries. the police said.

The driver of the suspect vehicle, an 18-year-old, and a passenger, a 14-year-old, were taken into custody and transported to a hospital with serious injuries, according to police.

The charges are pending review by the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office. Police say the investigation is still ongoing.
