JoJo Siwa Reveals Freddie Mercury Is the Rock Icon She Wants to Embody on the Red Carpet (Exclusive)

Siwa has hit the red carpet in the past with a KISS-inspired look.

JoJo Siwa has her eye on rock ‘n’ roll when it comes to her style.

Speaking to PEOPLE at the Christian Cowan Spring 2025 show on September 8 during New York Fashion Week, the “Karma” singer, 21, shared which music icon she feels a connection with.

“My whole life I’ve always been inspired by Freddie Mercury. I love that guy so much and I think he’s always with me in some way and he’s an inspiration. There will definitely be Freddie looks in the future,” she says.

The Queen frontman isn’t the only musician Siwa is a fan of.

At the iHeartRadio Music Awards in April, the Dancing Moms The former dance school alum took her edgy aesthetic to the next level with a glam that was entirely influenced by the legendary band KISS. Her outfit rocked the internet with her flawless outfit, which included a dazzling jumpsuit and epic rocker makeup.

Siwa’s look was so impressive that it caught the attention of Gene Simmons, who called the dancer “cool” and “amazing” for her sartorial boldness in an interview with TMZ. “Anybody who doesn’t get that is just jealous, period.”

And then the moment got bigger with Chloe Fineman recreating Siwa’s KISS look on Saturday night live.

Siwa recently also went full Miley Cyus, posing as a pop princess in a teddy bear bra (much like the one Cyrus wore during her Bangerz (era) at the Pride Disco show in July.

“It was when I was 8 years old that Miley had her Bangerz moment and I was like, ‘All I want is to have that day.’ I want that,” Siwa told Alex Cooper on the Call her daddy podcast in April 2024.
