SCDOT Announces Temporary Closure of Horry County Roads for Partial Bridge Replacement

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – The South Carolina Department of Transportation has announced upcoming traffic changes as crews work to replace part of a bridge.

The SCODT said Tuesday that effective September 16, the intersection of Highway 472 and Highway 472 will be closed as part of work to replace the Highway 472 bridge.

Traffic will be detoured via Highway 19 West to Highway 905 and Highway 66 to the Conway Bypass. A photo is available below.

The agency said the closure is expected to reopen by the end of October.
