Smoke from Davis wildfire causes cancellation of some high school sports

Smoke from the Davis Creek Fire forced the cancellation or postponement of several high school sports competitions Tuesday, but not all.

Here’s what’s postponed and what’s still scheduled for Tuesday.

Volleyball: The Reno-Bishop Manogue game is postponed, as is the Carson-Galena game. The Douglas-Spanish Springs and McQueen-Damonte Ranch games are still on the schedule, both at 6 p.m. for the varsity teams.

Women’s football: McQueen’s games at Galena and Spanish Springs’ at Bishop Manogue are postponed while Damonte Ranch’s game at Reno is still on, at 3:30 p.m. Reed’s game at Carson is also still on, at 6:45 p.m.

Tennis: Postponed boys games include Manogue at McQueen and Spanish Springs at Galena. Postponed girls games include McQueen at Manogue and Galena at Spanish Springs.

The men’s tennis matches are still scheduled: Reno at Reed and Damonte at Carson. One women’s match is still scheduled: Reed at Reno.
