Man wanted with loaded handgun arrested; woman caught shoplifting at Marc’s: Middleburg Heights police bulletin

MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS, Ohio –

Arrest warrant issued: Pearl Road

A wanted 33-year-old Cleveland man was arrested around 10:30 a.m. Sept. 5 on Pearl.

A license plate camera alerted police that a Cadillac CTS linked to a crime was traveling on Pearl near Lucerne Drive.

Police later learned that the registered owner of the Cadillac, the Cleveland man, was wanted for rape and aggravated sexual assault by the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office.

Police spotted the Cadillac traveling northbound on Pearl at Bagley Road. They activated their lights and siren and stopped the car on Pearl north of Smith Road.

The officers rushed out of their vehicle and ordered the man to get out of the Cadillac. He complied and was taken into custody.

In the glove compartment of the Cadillac, police found a loaded pistol, which he was not allowed to have in his possession because of the arrest warrant.

Shoplifting: Southland Drive

A 59-year-old Middleburg Heights woman was cited around 1 p.m. Sept. 8 after she was caught stealing merchandise from Marc’s Deeper discount store, 6849 Southland.

A store security guard saw the woman place some items in a cart and others in a bag. At the self-checkout, she paid for some items, but not all.

The woman left the store without paying for the entire item. The security guard stopped her outside.

Arrest warrant issued: Engle Road

A wanted 41-year-old Cleveland woman was arrested around 9 p.m. Sept. 9 at the Quality Inn, 7233 Engle.

Police were called to the hotel because the woman refused to leave. They learned she was wanted for aggravated menacing in Middleburg Heights and operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol in Brooklyn.

Shoplifting: Southland Drive

A 50-year-old Cleveland woman was summonsed to court around 2:30 p.m. Sept. 6 after she was caught stealing merchandise from Giant Eagle, 6869 Southland.

A Giant Eagle security guard arrested the woman after seeing her place several items in a bag and walk out of the store without paying.

The woman had a history of stealing merchandise from Giant Eagle.
