School bus caught fire on US 27, driver noticed something unusual

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — A school bus caught fire on U.S. Highway 27 this morning.

The Chattanooga Fire Department (CFD) reported that the driver noticed the bus was acting strangely.

She then stopped and called another bus to pick up the children from her bus.

Shortly after the children safely boarded the other bus, the first bus caught fire.

The CFD intervened and extinguished the flames.

The bus was eventually destroyed.

Firefighters said the only thing left were the tires.

Fortunately, there were no injuries in the incident.
