Quan’s mother, Tammie Morgan-Chism, also paid tribute to her father, writing, “When man said I would never have children, God blessed me with you, and you have been the anchor of my life from beginning to end. God knows I am grateful for the 34 years God has allowed me to share you with the world. No more late nights or early morning chats, but knowing you are my personal angel does my soul good.”

Quan, who was father to sons Devin, Royal, Khosen and Loyal, and daughter Alayna, will be buried at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta.

The cause of his death has not yet been released. According to an incident report obtained by PEOPLE, Quan’s brother told police he woke up at 3 a.m. the day his brother died and noticed the rapper sleeping on the floor near the kitchen with food in his mouth, which he found “very unusual.” He then lifted the star off the floor and placed him on the couch.

A woman who lived in the home eventually called police later that morning at 11 a.m. after noticing Quan’s body was cold and he wasn’t breathing. She told officers she had seen him on the couch earlier in the morning but thought he was asleep, the report said.
