Lansdale Historical Society announces fall community programs, including how to research your property

The events are held at Lansdale Borough Hall.

A series of community programs have been set by the Lansdale Historical Society for the following dates:

Monday, Sept. 23, 7 pm — “A Look Back at the Lansdale Centennial of 1972.”

The program, filled with photos and narrated by Linda Evans, will show how Lansdale celebrated its 100 years of incorporation by hosting a series of spectacular events including parades, band concerts, dances, carnivals, and even an opera!

Wednesday, Oct. 9, 7 pm — “Montco Roots“

Guest speaker Jeanne Sorg, Montgomery County Recorder of Deeds, will review the types of documents that are registered with the Recorder of Deeds office and go through how to search the database for current and historical deeds on your property.

Tuesday, Nov. 12, 7 p.m. — “Preserving Historic Lansdale“

This program, presented by LHS President Pat Rieker, will feature some of Lansdale’s landmark buildings, and will include a discussion of local efforts to preserve them. Since summer 2023, LHS members have asked borough council to consider several measures to help protect and preserve historic buildings, and have since worked with borough staff to develop a registry of such properties around the town.

All programs are held at Lansdale Borough Hall, One Vine Street, Lansdale. There is no admission charge, but donations are appreciated.
