Silent Hill 2 Remake Will Be PlayStation Exclusive For At Least A Year

The Silent Hill 2 remake will be a console exclusive for PlayStation 5 for at least a year, according to a new trailer.

The new trailer, dubbed the “Immersion Trailer,” shows off several locations from the Silent Hill 2 remake and provides details on how the PS5’s DualSense features help immerse players in the gameplay. The controller’s haptic feedback can be felt when hitting enemies with close-range weapons, and adaptive triggers generate resistance when firing firearms. The controller’s light bar changes color based on the player’s health status. Given that Silent Hill 2 is a horror game, the PS5’s 3D audio is also highlighted.

The end of the trailer states that the game is a PS5 console exclusive, but at the bottom of the trailer, there’s small text that says, “Also available on PC. Not available on other formats until August 10, 2025.” That means it’ll be at least a year before Silent Hill 2 can be released on other platforms like Xbox, and possibly even the Switch’s successor when it eventually releases.

Silent Hill 2 will be released on October 8th for PC and PS5. In GameSpot’s preview of the Silent Hill 2 remake, we said: “After spending about three hours with Silent Hill 2 Remake, I’m confident that this puzzle-driven horror game will honor the tone of the original and excite old fans while creating many new ones.”
