Sharon Horgan Joins Hulu’s Amanda Knox Limited Series

EXCLUSIVE: Bad sisters Co-creator and star Sharon Horgan has been tapped as a series regular on Hulu Amanda, playing Amanda Knox’s mother, Edda Mellas, alongside Grace Van Patten who plays Knox.

The limited series is based on the true story of how Amanda Knox was wrongfully convicted of the murder of her roommate Meredith Kercher and her 16-year odyssey to freedom.

Edda Mellas, played by Horgan, plays the desperate but optimistic mother of Amanda Knox (Patten). Their deep bond is tested by Amanda’s imprisonment, but Edda’s unwavering love for her daughter drives her to fight for Amanda’s life.

The series, created by KJ Steinberg, is produced by 20th Television in association with The Littlefield Company. Steinberg serves as executive producer alongside Warren Littlefield, Lisa Harrison, Ann Johnson and Graham Littlefield for The Littlefield Company; Monica Lewinsky via Alt Ending Productions; and Amanda Knox and Chris Robinson of Knox Robinson Productions.

Horgan co-created and starred in series such as Draw, Disaster and more recently Bad sisters, which is entering its second season on Apple TV+. It received Emmy nominations for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series (Disaster) and for Lead Actress in a Drama Series and Best Writing for a Drama Series (Bad sisters). Horgan is represented by WME, United Agents and Nelson Davis.
