Hayden is hosting two events to bring the community together and celebrate the arrival of fall

Fall is in the air in Hayden as two events celebrating the season take center stage this month.

Help the Haven

The premiere will take place from 3:30 to 6 p.m. on October 6 on the back patio of the Haven Community Center. This family-friendly event will feature music from Apple Pie and A Guy, beer from Yampa Valley Brewing Company, food from the American Legion and a silent auction with a number of items up for grabs. There will also be pumpkin painting and other fall activities.

Tickets for the event are $12 for an individual who chooses a non-alcoholic beverage, $15 for an adult who wants a beer, $25 for a couple or $40 for a family. All tickets include a meal and access to all activities.

“This is a fundraiser for the Haven, our nonprofit assisted living facility in Hayden,” said Miranda Barrett, director of the Haven Assisted Living Center. “All proceeds go to the Haven, and local businesses donate items for the silent auction. Silent auctions can range from Broncos tickets to baked goods and anything that local businesses or community members are willing to donate.”

Barrett said money raised from the event will go into a general fund that supports residents’ activities and improves their quality of life.

All proceeds will benefit The Haven, a non-profit assisted living community for adults 55 and older.

Harvest Festival

The Hayden Center also invites people to come from 1 to 4 p.m. on Oct. 12 to Dry Creek Park at 513 S. Poplar St. for Harvest Fest with a chance to celebrate the changing of the seasons.

“We’ll have live music. We’ll have a food truck and we’ll have a few different games for the kids,” said Rhonda Sweetser, recreation director. “There’ll be pumpkins to paint, pumpkins to buy (and) a free caramel apple bar with hot cider and hot coffee. Then there’ll be a photo booth, so you can take your own pictures. … It’ll be a nice little decorated area where you can take pictures.”

Sweetser also said the long-running family event will include arts and crafts, games, a maze and a food truck. The Hayden FFA chapter will also bring animals to the celebration.

“It’s just a celebration of fall for the Hayden community to come together…to enjoy each other and have a good time in our fantastic city park,” Sweetser said.
