Police search for driver involved in serious hit-and-run in west Detroit

DETROIT – Police are searching for the driver involved in a serious hit-and-run in west Detroit.

The incident occurred on Friday (August 30) at 7:10 p.m. in the area of ​​Central and MacKenzie streets when the unknown driver of an older model burgundy Chrysler 200 with a limited trim level struck a 36-year-old man who was riding a bicycle.

Authorities said the driver fled the scene. The victim is currently being treated at a metro Detroit hospital for his injuries.
