PJ police arrest three men aged 50-61 suspected of repeatedly stabbing interior designer to death at Sri Damansara flat

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 22 — Police believe they have made significant progress in the murder case of an interior designer who was brutally stabbed 20 times in a flat in Persiaran Meranti, Bandar Sri Damansara, after three men were arrested early this morning.

Petaling Jaya district deputy police chief Supt M Hussin Sollehuddin Zolkifly said that acting on intelligence, police raided a flat at 3am, leading to the arrest of three suspects, aged between 50 and 61.

“The three suspects are roommates and the initial police investigation revealed that one of them may be involved in the murder of the 36-year-old victim.

“The suspects, who did not know the victim, allegedly broke into the interior designer’s house to commit a robbery but found him returning at that time.

“This unexpected confrontation resulted in a fight, during which the victim was fatally stabbed,” he explained in a statement.

The three suspects, who have a combined total of nine criminal records and 14 drug-related cases, were remanded in custody for six days by the Petaling Jaya Magistrate’s Court until Thursday to assist in the investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

On Monday, the interior designer’s body was discovered in his Bandar Sri Damansara apartment, with 20 stab wounds all over his body, including his hands and head. — Bernama
