Two stabbed in domestic incident in Albany

Two people were taken to hospital after being stabbed this afternoon in Albany.

Police said the incident happened around 4:20 p.m. in the 100 block of Grand Street.

When officers arrived on scene this afternoon, they found a 37-year-old woman with a minor laceration to her hand and a 13-year-old child with a mouth injury. Both were taken to Albany Medical Center for further treatment.

Albany police told NewsChannel 13 the incident was domestic related.

Albany police also said they arrested Paul Smith, 38, of Albany. Smith is charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon and endangering the welfare of a child.

Smith will be arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court tomorrow morning.
