A Turners Marsh man has lost his driving licence for three months after he was caught driving 43km/h over the speed limit on the East Tamar Highway.

The 52-year-old man was stopped by police in Dilston on Sunday afternoon for driving 143km/h in a 100km/h zone.

Acting Inspector Aleena Crack said it was the second time in a few days that police had caught someone speeding on the motorway in the same area.

“On Thursday, police charged an 18-year-old man from George Town after he was detected driving at 163km/h in the 100km/h zone on the East Tamar Highway in Dilston,” she said.
