‘Devara: Part 1’ Pre-Release Event Cancelled Due to Security Reasons; Jr NTR Reacts

The pre-release event of Devara: Part 1 was cancelled at the last minute by the producers, leaving several fans disappointed. The pan-Indian film stars Jr NTR, Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan in the lead roles. Directed by Koratala Siva, Devara is set to hit theaters on September 27, 2024.

The event, which was scheduled to take place on Sunday, September 22, 2024, was canceled by organizers hours before the start due to security concerns. Many fans who had arrived at the venue returned home disappointed.

Reacting to the development, actor Jr NTR said that it was “wrong to blame the producers or the organisers for the cancellation”. In a video on social media, the actor addressed his fans saying, “I am extremely disappointed with the cancellation. I was looking forward to meeting you all and talking about Devara. I completely understand your disappointment.

Organizers said in a statement that heavy rains in recent days had posed several challenges. “Even if it didn’t rain today, the conditions would not have been favorable for an outdoor event.”

The huge fan turnout proved to be a double-edged sword for the organizers. “Despite our best efforts, the massive fan turnout got out of hand as barricades were broken due to the overflowing crowd. For the safety of all, we had to make the difficult decision to cancel the event.”
