Prince Harry found himself in an awkward situation with his brother, Prince William, at a charity concert hosted by Kevin Costner.

The Duke of Sussex, 40, attended the charity event hosted by the 69-year-old Bodyguard actor in support of Santa Barbara first responders. The event was a star-studded evening dedicated to honoring the bravery of local heroes, but it was Harry’s presence that garnered the most attention amid the social media gaffe.

Among the stars in attendance, American singer Richard Marx performed during the concert. However, in an awkward moment, Marx didn’t immediately notice Prince Harry as he left the stage, prompting the father-of-two to subtly point out where he was.

In a clip posted on social media, the rocker was seen almost walking past Prince Harry.

Richard Marx’s wife Daisy Fuentes then shared behind-the-scenes moments on Instagram as the couple finally reunited. She posted photos of the couple chatting, but accidentally tagged Kate and William’s account.

In addition to meeting celebrity guests, Prince Harry presented an award for the charity event. He took to the stage to present an award to Loren Courtney, a Santa Barbara County Air Support Pilot.

“As you’ve probably heard, he has 22 years of military service, over 10,000 hours, and rarely sees his family because he’s always out there flying helicopters.

He said: “I learned in the Army that you never leave anyone behind. We got him out of there. He spent almost a year in intensive care, then rehabilitation, and now he’s walking, he’s married. He even went to the top of the Grand Tetons and proposed to his girlfriend after the accident.”

“You didn’t have to save him again, did you?” Prince Harry joked.

Neither Meghan Markle nor Prince Harry currently have official social media accounts. Since stepping back from royal duties, the couple have moved away from platforms like Instagram, choosing instead to focus on their charitable work and media projects.

Meanwhile, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton often share updates about their family, royal engagements and charitable initiatives with their followers on Instagram and X.
