A woman was rescued after a crash left a Porsche SUV hanging from the third floor of a parking garage in Coral Gables, Florida, on Monday, authorities said.

The incident happened on the third floor of a garage at 1567 San Remo Avenue after authorities said it appeared the woman driving the SUV accidentally hit the accelerator.

Coral Gables fire officials said the crash sent the SUV through a concrete barrier.

Aerial footage from Chopper 6 showed the white SUV over the edge of the garage and against a tree.

Authorities said there was a woman inside the vehicle who was hanging halfway out but was being held by the tree.

Rescuers used ropes to pull the woman to safety and she was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition.

“I’m pretty sure she was pretty shaken up, but looking at it from the outside, she was pretty calm considering the dramatic nature of this incident,” said Coral Gables Fire Department Chief Xavier Jones.

An employee at a medical office across the street said he heard the moment of impact.

“I heard a car start up, like someone had accidentally stepped on the accelerator or was trying to go really fast. I heard a really violent impact, so I thought it was an accident between two cars,” said Katiana Polanco.

Authorities used a crane to remove the vehicle and said structural engineers would examine the garage.

No further information was immediately available.
