Biden’s farewell message on climate

Biden’s farewell message on climate

President Joe Biden on Tuesday praised his administration’s work on climate change, urging world leaders to remain united in tackling that and other pressing global issues.

Biden addressed the United Nations General Assembly in New York for his fourth and final time as president, as he prepares to leave office in January. He used his farewell address to highlight his domestic and international climate policies, while urging nations to keep pushing for solutions.

“People need more than the absence of war,” Biden said. “They need a chance to live with dignity. They need protection from the ravages of climate change, hunger and disease.”

Biden’s speech at the United Nations is one of several the president is scheduled to deliver in New York on Tuesday. He is also scheduled to deliver a climate-focused address Tuesday afternoon at the Bloomberg Global Business Forum, where he is expected to contrast his administration’s work on climate with the likely rollbacks that would come if former President Donald Trump were to retake the White House.
