Ringo Starr has cut short his fall tour after suffering a minor illness.

The 84-year-old rocker and his All Starr band have announced the cancellation of the final two shows of their current tour on Tuesday, September 24.

“Ringo has come down with a cold and after consulting a doctor, he has been advised to cancel these two remaining concerts and rest,” a representative for Starr said in a press release.

The canceled shows were scheduled for Tuesday night at Mann’s TD Pavilion in Philadelphia and Wednesday night at Radio City Music Hall in New York.

Ticket holders will be notified by email and will be automatically refunded.

“As always, Ringo and the All Starrs send peace and love to their fans and hope to see them again soon,” the press release concluded.

The former Beatle and his bandmates hit the road on September 7 in San Diego as part of their fall tour. They had already played 10 shows before Starr fell ill. His tour mates include Colin Hay, Steve Lukather, Edgar Winter, Hamish Stuart, Gregg Bissonette and Warren Ham.

On September 18, he shared an Instagram post compiling some of his favorite moments on tour so far.

“I just want to thank all the amazing audiences so far – I love you all,” he captioned the post. “Peace and love from Ringo and the boys. 😎✌️🌟❤️🎶🌻🥦🌈☮️.”

The “Photograph” singer is currently working on a country album with T Bone Burnett, details of which will be announced next month.

He released the EP Twisted Boy in April, which marked her fourth EP featuring four songs, all written and produced by Linda Perry.

Although he recently celebrated his 84th birthday, Starr is busier than ever and told PEOPLE last year that he knows age is just a number.

“Nothing makes me feel old. In my mind, I’m 27,” he said. “Wisdom is a loaded word. (Aging) is what happens, and you try to keep yourself busy.”

He also explained why having a positive outlook on life was never something he had to work hard for.

“I’ve never really felt depressed,” he said. “I’ve had my moments, of course. But my spirits are up. That’s all I can say, really.”
