When it comes to audio on the go, i.e. listening to music or a podcast while you’re on the move, the choice is either in-ear or over-ear – headphones or headphones. When it comes to games, the choice almost always falls on the latter. Well, that’s changing as SteelSeries reinvents its premium Arctis wireless gaming headset into a pair of premium gaming headphones.

The new SteelSeries Arctis GameBuds combine lifestyle and play. They feature Bluetooth 5.3 to connect to various devices with active noise cancellation (ANC) and over 40 hours of battery life when using the case to recharge. Available in black or white, they don’t look too similar to other lifestyle earphone models, although they do carry the SteelSeries logo.

The addition of a new USB-C nano dongle capable of delivering the low-latency 2.4GHz wireless gaming demands is where it gets interesting. This means the headphones also double as a premium gaming headset with over 100 custom gaming audio presets, surround sound support, and much more.

It pairs perfectly with the Arctis app, which brings powerful audio customization tools to mobile devices, including audio profiles for games created by the game developers who worked on them. With support for PC, Xbox, PS5, Switch and more, the SteelSeries Arctis GameBuds line is priced at $169.99 USD and is available now.

We’ll be testing the new Arctis GameBuds in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for our full review.
