More information

The statement also outlines alternative routes that motorists can follow during the nighttime traffic diversion, aimed at facilitating the installation of a truck barrier at the Ojuelegba flyover bridge with minimum disruption.

Motorists coming from areas such as Eko Bridge, Costain and Iponri and heading towards Ojuelegba are advised to use the designated service road, starting from the National Stadium Gate, to connect to the barracks and proceed towards their intended destination. This alternative route is expected to ease traffic flow and reduce congestion while necessary construction work is carried out.

Furthermore, the statement noted that the Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, also appealed to motorists to cooperate and exercise patience throughout the brief closure of the bridge.

He reassured the public that the timing of the diversion was strategically chosen to take place during the night, when traffic volume is significantly lower, to minimize inconvenience to road users.

By scheduling the installation at late hours, the government aims to limit disruption during peak times of the day, ensuring that road users experience as little inconvenience as possible.

This approach is part of a broader traffic management strategy aimed at ensuring smoother traffic flow and public safety while necessary infrastructure improvements are completed.
