Le Mars police ask for public help in murder investigation

LE MARS, Iowa (KTIV) – Le Mars police are asking for the public’s help in finding those responsible for Monday morning’s murder.

On Monday, September 30, police were called to an apartment at 37 3rd Avenue Northwest for reports of “shots fired.” Officers arrived on scene and found Miguel Martinez, 21, suffering from a gunshot wound.

Martinez was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the department’s Facebook page, Le Mars police officers asked neighbors in northwest Le Mars to see if security cameras, or doorbell cameras, captured the suspect(s) between midnight and 3 a.m. on Monday September 30.
