A man was knocked to the ground with a stool in his face after spraying punters with a fire extinguisher at a Manchester pub.

Getting sprayed with suds is the last thing you expect when you go out for a pint on a Sunday evening.

But one group had their drinks quietly disturbed by a man dousing the room with a fire extinguisher before immediately taking revenge.

There were no signs of smoke or flames in CCTV footage from The Black Boy pub in Wythenshawe on September 29.

Yet a man was seen dragging a red fire extinguisher across the room as its hose squirmed in the air from the force of its contents coming out.

He then walked towards a group sitting with pints under a portrait of John Lennon in the corner of Chelsea footballer Cole Palmer’s premises.

The stool caused the man to fall.

As soon as he grabbed the nozzle and pointed it at them, one of the group jumped up and threw a stool at him.

The man was hit in the face, knocking him straight to the ground.

“It was a bit exaggerated,” one person commented on social media, “he was just giving this guy beer.”

Another joked: “Now he has wooden teeth.” »

Richard added: “He won’t do that again, will he?

Within seconds, any of the trio had barely had a chance to watch the events unfold, let alone move from their seats.

This came straight after Manchester United’s 3-0 home defeat to Tottenham in the Premier League.

Cole Palmer, who played with rivals Manchester City until last year, grew up in The Black Boy area.

It was the scene of wild celebrations when he scored for England in their 2-1 Euro 2024 final defeat to Spain in July.

He became the first player in Premier League history to score four goals in one half last Saturday September 8, in a 4-2 victory against Brighton.

Palmer signed for Chelsea for over £40 million last year.

His father, Jermaine, played for the pub’s football team, Blackboy FC.

Metro has contacted The Black Boy for comment.
