‘Swamp People’ star Troy Landry stinged

Troy Landry is a legend to many after his long run on the hit TV show “Swamp People,” but it seems he’s gotten himself into a bit of trouble recently.

According to reports, Landry, 64, was cited by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries for mislabeling alligators.

Landry, who was allegedly caught in a sting, was cited on two counts of failing to tag an alligator when it was captured, » declared the LDWF according to WVLA.

The station said wildlife officers were notified Sept. 18 that someone was setting up alligator lines in Palourde Lake without permission to hunt in the area. Officers said they set up surveillance of the area the next day and said they observed Landry and two others heading toward lines of alligators that matched the description.

They said after speaking with Landry, they determined he had permission to hunt in the area, but did not have the correct tags to hunt in the area. According to WVLA, Landry told officers he had not taken an alligator in the area, but when they told him they had been “watching the whole time,” he admitted to taking one.

According to the station, officers also said Landry told them he had cut a “dead ‘stiff’ alligator out of its life and let it float” earlier.

The station said its citations were for a mistagged alligator and for releasing the dead alligator and letting it float.

Bad news for Landry, the report says officers seized his boat and motor.

The good news is he can probably afford another one, as Celebrity Net Worth estimates he’s worth $2 million.
