Cambridgeshire man charged after knife incident in Parliament

A man has been charged in connection with reports of a person carrying knives outside the Houses of Parliament.

The Metropolitan Police said Lewis Allington, based in Cambridgeshire from March, will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.

He was charged with two felonies: possession of an offensive weapon, police said.

Police cars could be seen parked outside Carriage Gates – one of the most prominent entrances to the Palace of Westminster – after the incident on Tuesday afternoon.
