District Judge and Additional Sessions Judge KP Kshirsagar on Tuesday, November 12, convicted a 59-year-old man under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO) and sentenced him to 25 years of rigorous imprisonment on charges of sexually abusing his 13-year-old child. year-old daughter in 2018.

The order states that in view of the nature of the crime and the physical and mental trauma caused to the victim as a result of the commission of aggravated penetrative sexual assault by the suspect, in addition to the punishment of the suspect, the victim is entitled to compensation under section 396 of the Act. the BNSS and section 33(8) of the POCSO Act. In addition, the judge ordered the convicted person to pay a fine of 10,000 and in default of payment of fine, he will be sentenced to simple imprisonment for one month.

Special Prosecutor NP Konghe argued that the suspect committed a heinous crime against a minor victim. Due to his age, there are no chances for reform and therefore the suspect does not deserve leniency. Therefore, a maximum penalty should be imposed.
