Man killed, woman arrested in Midtown Kansas City homicide

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Police responded to a homicide in Midtown Kansas City Thursday afternoon.

Kansas City Police said officers responded to a business in the 300 block of Linwood Boulevard just after 1 p.m. after hearing of a shooting.

Police said a woman approached them saying someone had been shot and she had fired the gun.

First responders found a man with gunshot trauma in the business parking lot, and he was pronounced dead.

Police said the shooting stemmed from an altercation that took place in the parking lot, although it was not known how the confrontation began.

UPDATE: KCPD is crediting witnesses who remained at the scene and were willing to cooperate with officers to provide statements and indicate what happened and who was involved.
