The most shocking scene in Cobra Kai Season 6 Part 2 features a surprise cameo

The final episode of Cobra Kai Season 6 Part 2 features a dream sequence with a surprise cameo from a classic Karate Kid character.

As we approach the finals of Cobra Kaithere are several burning questions that the series must answerfeaturing characters from the past and present, as well as a Karate Kid movie in the future.

Season 6 Part 2 focuses on the Sekai Taikai tournament in Barcelona, where the members of Cobra Kai and Miyagi-Do compete against fighters from around the world.

But the series also revolves around things Daniel investigates a mystery from the distant pastwhich inspires the strangest scene of the season.

We’ll be going into more detail about the final episode of Season 6, Part 2 below, so watch out SPOILERS forward…

Is Mr. Miyagi in Cobra Kai Season 6 Part 2?

Yes, Mr. Miyagi is in Cobra Kai Season 6, Part 2 – a young version of the character appears in a dream sequence where he fights Daniel LaRusso at the Sekai Taika tournament.

At the end of season 6, episode 9, Terry Silver presented Daniel with papers indicating that his former mentor once killed someone during the tournament, and that information is clearly playing on LaRusso’s mind, through this nightmare.

The scene takes place at the beginning of episode 10 and the footage is distressed and looks like a film reel, suggesting it is from the past.

On a blank screen, an announcer says in Japanese, “Now is the moment you’ve all been waiting for. The last match of the Sekai Taikai!” He shouts “fighters on the mat” and suddenly we see the young Nariyoshi Miyagi as the crowd chants his name.

Daniel joins the fray, clearly in disbelief that he is standing face to face with his beloved mentor, as the crowd shouts, “Kill him, Miyagi-san!”

Daniel says, “Mr. Miyagi? What is this?” But his opponent says nothing and just stares. They fight, and Miyagi is too fast for LaRusso and immediately wins a point.

“Sir. Miyagi, what are you doing? asks Daniel, “It’s me!” But again Miyagi remains silent, preferring to fight. This time LaRusso defends, but Miyagi still knocks him over with a kick.

“If this is a lesson, I don’t understand it,” says Daniel, referring to his ‘wax on, wax off’ days (see video below). At this point Miyagi mocks him. Daniel then receives a strong slap and says: ‘Enough. Just talk to me. There’s so much you never told me. I just need to understand why.”

“That was always your problem, Daniel-san,” is the answer. “So eager to understand, but unwilling to accept.” Miyagi then screams and goes hard towards his mentee, throwing him to the ground, punching him repeatedly and then preparing for the killing blow.

He then turns into the old version of the character we know from the Karate Kid movies and says, “Miyagi never tells you everything, Daniel-san, because you were never strong enough to accept the truth.” He screams again and punches Daniel in the face, suddenly waking LaRusso from his sleep, ending the dream.

It’s a shocking sequence that comes out of nowhere, but the scene is also a good representation of the fear Daniel feels about his former friend, whose potentially deadly actions call into question everything LaRusso believes.

But as a super fan of the original films, I would rather see an actor play young Miyagi than what appears to be a computer-generated version of old Miyagi at the end of the series. Which just looks strange.
