Two injured in a two-vehicle crash in Marquette Township

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WLUC) – A 92-year-old Marquette man is in stable condition and his 96-year-old passenger suffered serious injuries in a two-car crash Thursday evening.

At approximately 7:42 p.m., deputies from the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the crash scene on US-41 West, near County Road headquarters and Walmart in Marquette Township. A 25-year-old Ishpeming woman was driving a Ford F-150 pickup, and the 92-year-old Marquette man was driving a Cadillac SRX when both vehicles collided at the roundabout, sending the Cadillac into the ditch.

The driver and passenger of the pickup were not injured. Both occupants of the Cadillac were transported to UPHS-Marquette for treatment. No names have been released and the crash remains under investigation as drugs are believed to be a factor.

The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Michigan State Police, Marquette Township Fire, Marquette Township EMS, UPHS-Marquette EMS and Marquette Detailing.
