Friends of 16-year-old killed in police shooting on Fort Wayne’s south side speak out

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – Friends are speaking out about a police shooting that claimed the life of a loved one on Fort Wayne’s south side last weekend.

BACKGROUND: FWPD investigates after officer shoots and kills armed suspect on city’s South Side

The shooting claimed the life of 16-year-old Ah Mee Kun on the night of November 10.

Kun’s friend, Ozme Wyn, was at the scene when Kun was shot.

He says they were listening to music in the car when police arrived and began questioning the driver. He says the officer then switched to Kun.

Another friend, Fare Dal, says the FWPD detective working the case said he would call them Tuesday with more information.

Dal says that call never came.

“We like to try to contact the detective about the statement and stuff, you know? Like we want to know what happened from their side but they still haven’t contacted them. It’s been going on for four or five days, we’ve been trying to reach out and everything,” says Dal.

Lin Aung, another friend of Kun, says police should release the bodycam footage of what happened that night.
