Nice autumn forecast for the weekend

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – With the cold front well to the south, we can expect this cool, dry weather to continue through the weekend. High pressure building behind this front will bring plenty of sunshine and no chance of rain through Monday. Temperatures will be close to where they belong for this time of year. Expect highs in the 80s and lows in the 60s. The wind will be from the NE on Saturday at 10-25 km/h and east-northeast on Sunday.

The nice weather on Monday will remain only a few degrees warmer. On Tuesday we will see some clouds moving in late in the day as whatever is left of Sara and a trough of low pressure moves in from the NW. We have a First Alert Weather day for Tuesday on the low side, just due to some cloud cover and a good chance of a few showers and a few isolated thunderstorms. It looks like we could see 1/2 to 1 inch of rain with this system. As soon as the front moves through on Wednesday, the wind will turn to the NW and that will bring much cooler weather on Thursday.

Thursday will also be a First Alert Weather day due to the colder weather expected to arrive. The high on Thursday will only be in the lower 70s. It will be windy from Wednesday and it will remain chilly on Thursday.

It is believed that Sara will pass over the Yucatán and eventually be downgraded to a tropical depression and possibly even dissipate when it reaches the SW Gulf of Mexico. The remaining moisture is tied up with a trough and frontal system and then moves towards Florida. The hurricane season officially ends on November 30.

For boaters, look for winds from the NE at 10-15 knots and 2-3 foot seas with a moderate chop on the water on Saturday.
