Woman accused of posing as a nurse at LA hospitals

A 44-year-old woman is charged with a crime for allegedly posing as a nurse at several California hospitals, including Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank.

Amanda Leeann Porter reportedly cared for 60 patients during her month-long employment, using stolen identities to secure the job.

Porter, who does not have a nursing license and is on federal probation for fraud, had also worked at other hospitals under assumed names, according to police.

She is charged with identity theft, false impersonation and grand larceny and is being held without bail while investigations into similar incidents continue. Authorities are calling on anyone with relevant information to come forward.
