Eight dead and seventeen injured in stabbing on Chinese university campus

A stabbing attack on a university campus in China left eight people dead and 17 injured, authorities said on Saturday.

Police said the attack took place at the Wuxi Vocational Institute of Arts and Technology in Yixing city. The suspect has been arrested.

The suspect is a 21-year-old former student who was supposed to graduate this year, but failed his exams.

“He returned to the school to express his anger and commit these murders,” authorities said. according to the New York Post.

The attacker also reportedly expressed anger over how much he was paid during an internship.

This is not the first mass attack in China this month.

Last week, a man drove through a crowd of people at a sports complex in southern China, killing 35 people and injuring 43 others because he was angry over his recent divorce settlement. The Associated Press.
