Longtime WWE announcer Samantha Irvin has revealed why she left the company.

Last week, Irvin shocked the wrestling world when she announced that she would be pursuing other opportunities outside of the WWE.

“WWE Universe, my time as your Monday Night Raw Ring Announcer has come to an end,” Irvin said on Instagram. “I love you guys so much and this doesn’t mean the end of my art, I still have a lifetime to share. Thank you to every WWE fan who accepted me.”

While responding to fans on social media, Irvin revealed that she left the WWE because she didn’t like announcing and wanted a bigger role in the company.

“I don’t like announcements,” she wrote. “I mean it! Announcing was just meant to be my way in. I wanted to lead and maybe even become a general manager one day. But WWE didn’t see any future for me other than an announcer. I like watching the action, but I don’t like being an announcer.”

Irvin then thanked the fans who supported her decision.

“Thank you so much, I love WWE and I am so proud and honored to have shared all the moments with fellow fans, with lots of love! they also wanted Rico to stay in the big leagues. I don’t know why everyone acts like they’ve always been in great positions at WWE.”

It will be interesting to see if Irvin signs with AEW in the coming weeks after leaving the WWE
