Paltrow-inspired musical Gwyneth goes skiing for world tour

Gwyneth Paltrow-inspired immersive musical ‘Gwyneth Goes Skiing’ is touring the world after two sold-out runs in London.

Producers Awkward Productions are bringing the show to the US, with stops in Utah – where Paltrow lost half a day of skiing after colliding mid-slope with optician Terry Sanderson, who then sued her – as well as LA and New York before moving on to Canada, Asia, Australia, New Zealand and continental Europe.

They will also take another of their viral productions, “Diana: The Untold and Untrue Story,” on tour, in collaboration with Goudie Events.

“Gwyneth Goes Skiing” tells the story of Paltrow’s legal battle with Sanderson with original music by Leland, vocals by Daren Criss and Cat Cohen and a video appearance by Trixie Mattel as Gwyneth Paltrow’s mother Blythe Danner.

In Diana: The Untold and Untrue Story, Diana speaks her (un)truth from heaven as she finally tries to break free from the British monarchy.

Awkward Productions founders Linus Karp and Joseph Martin star in the shows, with Karp playing Paltrow and Princess Diana and Martin Sanderson and Charles and Camilla, respectively.

The double tour kicks off in Utah in January 2025, followed by stops at Soho Playhouse in New York and The Elysian in LA in late January.

Other stops include Thailand, Singapore, Australia (Adelaide, Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney, Newcastle, Brisbane, Auckland), Canada (Toronto, Calgary, Montreal) and Europe (Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Brussels, Berlin, Hamburg, Copenhagen, Malmö, Gothenburg , Stockholm, Oslo and Helsinki).

British “RuPaul’s Drag Race” star Pixie Polite will be the opening act on dates in Asia, Australia, New Zealand and Canada.

“Our plans for world domination and queering the world are finally coming true,” Karp and Martin said. “Such a slay house down boots mom moment. A wise woman (Beyoncé) once asked, ‘Who run the world?’, and now we know the answer to that question is AwkwardProds.”
