Latu Fainu, Solomona Faataape and Solomone Saukuru will be at the front of the board after their weight and skinfold tests fell short of their expected levels.

The trio’s 1.6km time trial numbers when they returned to training after the off-season also fell short of the club’s standards.

Benji Marshall faces a huge task to change the club’s culture after three straight wooden spoons and Rogers believes the Tigers now have zero tolerance for unprofessionalism

“I would be shocked if they wore a Tigers jersey again,” Rogers continued SEN radio.

“They are definitely not star players. They are in the top 30 of the team that finished last and can train excellently in those conditions.”

Rogers believes the Tigers have the opportunity to make a statement by terminating the contracts of the three players, sending a message to the underperforming squad that a lack of commitment to the club will no longer be acceptable.

“Personally, if I were Benji Marshall and Shane Richardson, I would just get rid of them,” Rogers said.

“Have three guys who actually want to add value to the place instead of trying to add value to them.

“That’s not how a good club works. The fact that they have to be at the front of the board will honestly surprise me if they have a career after that meeting at the Wests Tigers.”

Rogers was challenged that young players are allowed to make mistakes, with Fainu only 19, Faataape (23) and Saukuru (20) all able to handle themselves.

“I have made mistakes, but I will say this: My commitment to my job can never be questioned,” Rogers said.

“I would run until I spit. My promise, if you were around me, you knew what I was talking about. I was committed to what I was trying to achieve.

“Make a mistake, this was a long-term mistake.

“For two months you’ve been sitting on your ass eating crappy food and not training, knowing you’re going back to a pre-season. No, no, no, that’s bigger than a mistake.”
