Mumbai: The murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique has triggered an in-depth investigation by the Crime Branch unit of the Mumbai Police, focusing on various angles, including connections with Bollywood actor Salman Khan and notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.

Speaking to ANI, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of the Crime Branch, Datta Nalawade, confirmed that authorities are examining all possible leads. “Baba Siddique had no categorized security but three Mumbai Police officials were assigned to him. At the time of the incident, one of our security personnel was present with him,” Nalawade said.

Nalawade said that they are investigating all angles of this case, including the angles of Salman Khan and Lawrence Bishnoi, in connection with the case.

Siddique was shot on Sunday night at around 9:30 pm as he left his son’s office. Following the incident, a case was registered at Nirmal Nagar Police Station. Authorities arrested two suspects at the scene and recovered two handguns along with 28 rounds of ammunition.

When asked about Lawrence Bishnoi’s involvement, DCP Crime Branch Datta Nalawade said, “We are investigating the authenticity of the said social media post claiming responsibility for the incident…”
