Swerve Strickland announces he has been released and refuses MVP’s AEW WrestleDream business offer

Swerve Strickland made his return at AEW WrestleDream.

Prince Nana brought out Swerve, who said it was weird not having the AEW World Title. He said he has been sidelined since AEW All Out, but is now medically cleared.

The MVP came out with Shelton Benjamin. MVP said his resume speaks for itself and has helped the leagues regain form. He said he first saw something on Swerve and now wants to talk business.

Swerve said he learned from MVP, bringing up the previous match on DEFY. Swerve said MVP paved the way for people like Swerve and other black wrestlers to do what they do. Swerve said he’s watching the show, and MVP made some positive comments, noting that he lost the AEW World Title and his childhood home. He also said he wouldn’t have these things without Nana.

Swerve said there are some things about Nana that irritate him, including Nana still selling marijuana to high school kids. Swerve said Nana is family and he doesn’t turn his back on his family. Swerve said MVP could stick his business cards up his ass.

Shelton confronted Swerve, saying he misinterpreted the situation and was either with them or against them. Swerve and Shelton pushed each other before officers resolved the situation.

MVP made his debut at AEW Dynamite Grand Slam, facing Prince Nana, who he believed had upset Swerve. He gave Nana his business card so Nana could give it to Swerve.
