Two killed in crash in Norridgewock

NORRIDGEWOCK, Maine (WABI) – Police say two people were killed in a crash in Norridgewock on Monday.

According to the Morning Sentinel, 31-year-old Kyle Wyman and a female passenger were pronounced dead after their vehicle crashed on US Route 201A.

They say Somerset County Chief Deputy Mike Mitchell says they responded to the crash near the intersection with Father Rasle Road just after 7 a.m.

They believe Wyman was driving south when he lost control of the car, drove into oncoming traffic and then veered off the road to the right.

The car struck a utility pole and trees before coming to a stop about 40 feet off the road in a wooded area.

Mitchell says they were not wearing seat belts.

Mitchell told the newspaper that a neighbor heard a very loud noise around midnight that shook his house.

He went outside, but saw nothing.

The cause is still under investigation.
