METRO bus and SUV crash in the HOV lane of northbound I-45

A major car crash is under investigation, holding up traffic in the HOV lane on I-45.

The wreck involved a Jeep SUV and a METRO bus. The crash happened around 9:30 a.m. Monday in the northbound lanes of IH-45 before North Street.

The SUV has extensive damage to the driver’s side of the vehicle and the windshield of the Metro bus is shattered.

A tow truck attempted to move the wrecked SUV around noon.

We are investigating whether anyone was injured in the accident.
