46-year-old man injured in shooting in Martinsville

MARTINSVILLE, Va. (WDBJ) – A 46-year-old man was injured during a shooting Thursday in Martinsville, according to Martinsville police.

Police say officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 1300 block of Chatham Heights Road at 7:52 p.m., where officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

The man was transported to SOVAH in Martinsville, where his condition remains unknown, according to Polie.

Police say a suspect was identified and arrested at the scene, but their identity has not been released.

According to the police, there is no danger to the community.
