Cookie Monster is caught speeding at 60 mph! Cops issue warning for Muppet driver

A person dressed as Cookie Monster was caught speeding at 60 mph as police issued a warning to other Muppet drivers.

The cookie-loving blue Muppet was far from his usual home on the popular children’s show Sesame Street and was instead seen whizzing along a German highway.

In the bizarre photo – taken by a roadside mobile unit in Dortmund, western Germany – a driver can be seen driving at 60mph in a 50 zone while dressed as Cookie Monster.

If the doll is caught, you will be fined 40 euros.

The cookie-loving blue doll was far from his usual home on the popular children’s show Sesame Street and was instead seen whizzing along a German highway.

German police believe the crime was so brazen that the driver of the Audi was deliberately caught on September 20 wearing the costume for a prank.

But the police thought the stunt was in bad taste.

Police spokesman Peter Bandermann said: “The fun of wearing a Muppet Show mask can quickly turn serious.

“It won’t help the relatives of a person who was killed if the person who did it tearfully regrets their mask fun in court.”
