Nauticus’ WinterFest in Wisconsin Is Inspired by This Year’s Holiday Movies

NORFOLK, Va. – Nauticus Annual Winter Festival on the Wisconsin is back this year with a new theme inspired by holiday movies.

This year’s theme features a towering 35-foot-tall light fixture, two Grinch “takeover” nights, an elaborate new train display featuring everyone’s favorite elf, and more. All these additions make this season Winter Festival in the Christmas spirit.

“It’s our fifth season of Winter Festival and we’re going to explore Griswold,” said Stephen E. Kirkland, Executive Director of Nauticus. “We’ve been watching holiday movies around here since March to get into the zone,” he added.

As if you needed more reasons to visit, some other new additions this season include a team of elves recreating classic holiday movie scenes, as well as magical nighttime performances and an incredible trapeze show.

Winter Festival will also feature its magical Mistletoe Marina, which will include beautifully decorated boats, live entertainment, festive food and drink options and a waterfront marshmallow station.

While Nauticus already has some ideas prepared for the theme, you can still offer ideas on what you’d like to see this year by sharing which movies you love to watch during the winter.
