KC man caught in scheme to prostitute teens arrested and charged

PLATTE CO., Mo. (KCTV) – A Kansas City man is behind bars after cops caught him in a scheme to prostitute teenagers.

Platte County, Missouri court records indicate that on Wednesday, October 9, Eric H. Trammel, 47, of Kansas City, was charged with sponsoring prostitution for individuals between the ages of 14 and 18.

The Platte County Sheriff’s Office said that on Oct. 3, an undercover deputy posing as a 15-year-old reported an ongoing conversation with Trammel, who was trying to get them to work for him. The language throughout the text chain led law enforcement to believe this work would be prostitution.

During the conversation, Trammel told the undercover officer that he had previously worked with 15-year-old girls and was still in contact with them. On October 8, undercover officers arranged a meeting with Trammel at the Argosy Casino.

After deputies found Trammel’s vehicle and stopped him, they said he was arrested and booked into the Platte County Jail. During an interview, Trammel denied being a pimp, but said people would approach him and ask him to be their pimp.

As of Thursday, Trammel remains behind bars on $20,000 bail. A bond review hearing has been scheduled for 9 a.m. on Tuesday, October 15. No additional information was released.
