The funnywoman kicked off the autumn leg of her stand-up tour live at the London Palladium last week and name-checked her former partner and fellow comedian – despite recently admitting she was banned from speaking about her split by lawyers .

But according to Lucy, the pair continue to get along well and her ex Jon, 42, appeared in one of her jokes during the show, which Lucy admitted she should have ‘taken out’ after their split.

Commenting on raising her daughter, Lucy said: ‘I tried to raise her quite spiritually, because that’s how I was brought up, and I was showing her how to burn sage in the living room to get rid of negative energy.

‘And she said ‘no mum, dad is going to disappear’.’

After roars of laughter from the knowledgeable audience, Lucy joked: ‘When I wrote this it was a joke, but now it feels like it.

“I always mean to take it out, but we’re still friends – there’s nothing to worry about.”

Later in the show, Lucy also revealed that her parents’ marriage is also over.

She said: ‘My daughter has had an incredible effect on my mum and dad, they don’t spend a lot of time together – they’re growing apart – but now they spend weekends together.’

Lucy and Jon, who is team captain on Channel 4 series 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown, began dating in 2013 after they met through friend Roisin Conaty and went on to work together on a number of shows, including Meet The Richardsons in Dave.

Neither has spoken openly about the split since the split was announced – which saw Jon hand over £1.625 million to Lucy for her shares in a company in which they were both listed as directors.

The pair, who have amassed a fortune of £6million, released a joint statement which said: “After nine years of marriage, we would like to announce that we have separated.

“We have jointly and amicably made the difficult decision to divorce and go our separate ways.”

Speaking to The Sunday Times last week, Lucy told how she can’t talk about her divorce under the guidance of lawyers, but reflected on the public nature of her marriage.

She said: ‘I don’t regret anything. But equally, (during) this next phase, I’m keeping my personal life very personal.

Lucy added: ‘Sometimes I feel guilty about talking about my daughter and my marriage, and about my mum and dad.

“I think part of it was feeling grateful, grateful that I was getting the job, grateful that I was being interviewed and feeling like I had to sacrifice and share everything.”

Lucy also spoke to OK! Magazine, but once again remained coy about the breakup.

She said: ‘People might think I should talk about it because we were very public and everyone knew us as a couple, but I won’t, and not because there is any animosity.

“We both agreed that although it might be weird for other people not to hear anything about it, we wouldn’t talk about anything related to the marriage or each other.”

Since the split, fans have unearthed old video clips that suggest the marriage was on the rocks, including one in which Lucy admitted she sometimes worries that she “made a mistake” by marrying Jon while criticizing his stubbornness.

Asked if Lucy had any concerns about her ex-husband on her show Ultimate Worrier, she replied: ‘I have a lot. Sometimes I worry that I made a mistake.

Lucy went on to describe how Jon can’t admit when he is wrong or has made a mistake.

She added: “One thing I find really difficult in marriage is when the other person can’t admit when they’re wrong.

“(They) can’t apologize for making a mistake.”

In another old clip shared recently, Lucy jokingly said she didn’t think her marriage to Jon would last a lifetime, two years before they announced their split.

In a clip uncovered from 8 Out of 10 Cats Countdown to 2022, Lucy shared her candid take on their marriage, prompting Jon to ask ‘are you breaking up?’

Filming the show, host Jimmy Carr asked Lucy: ‘What made you decide to do a deal?’

To which the comedian replied: ‘I don’t see this happening for the rest of my life, isn’t there a song Just Passing Through? A season, a reason or a lifetime.

‘You meet in your life old souls, new souls, idiots. ‘Before Jon I had never eaten avocado. We had a lovely life together. We had a daughter.

‘Who knows what will happen in the future.’

A stunned Jon asked: ‘Are you finishing now?’ before placing your head in your hands.

Lucy replied: ‘We have a lovely daughter so it was worth it.’
