HAUNTED WALK IN

NATURAL PARK

A haunted walk will take place in the Natural Park. Located on Tree Path, a mini haunted walk will take place on Friday, October 25th from 6pm to 9pm and Saturday, October 26th from 6pm to 9pm, following Trunk or Treat. Questions should be directed to Brian Styers at 570-295-1174.

ANNUAL HOLIDAY EVENTS AT THE CONSTRUCTIONS

It’s not too early to start thinking about upcoming holiday events planned in the city. Sort out the lights, decorations, tinsel, and garlands and consider entering one of the following contests:

— Brighten up your home: The recreation committee’s annual home decorating contest is open to all township residents. If you are decorating, your members expect you to participate in the contest. Prizes are awarded!

— Elves in the Nature Park: You won’t want to miss this popular contest! Stay tuned as the committee works to finalize the event.

— Nature Park Tree Decoration: This is a fun way to create memories with your family, group, business or friends. You provide a five-foot artificial or live tree, lights, and decorations; the municipality provides trees and electricity. Prizes are awarded

— Decorate the Park for Christmas: If you are interested in helping decorate the natural park, extra hands are always welcome. Just show up and offer to help – the committee members would love to hear from you! Light meals are provided with a tentative date set for December 7th.

After details of each holiday event and contest are finalized, more information will be provided. All events are sponsored by the Wayne Township Supervisors and the Wayne Township Recreation Committee.

This year, First Quality is partnering as a sponsor of the Tree Decorating at the Nature Park contest. If your company wants to sponsor an event, the committee will announce your name on social media and in newsprint. Contact Mona Calhoun at 570-660-4809 or [email protected] to discuss.

HOLIDAY HOME

Fundraising

Holiday House fundraising is underway. The structure of the Holiday House is a reality, thanks to those who have already donated to this project. Materials will be delivered and construction will begin soon. This means the building will be covered and hopefully ready for some of the upcoming events! Donations are accepted until sufficient funds are received to make the Holiday Home an inviting, fun and welcome addition to the nature park. Questions can be directed to Brian Styers at 570-295-1174 or by email at [email protected].
