Man accused of ‘reckless behavior’ during Old Firm game at Celtic Park

A man has been charged with alleged culpable and reckless behavior at a game between Celtic and Rangers last month.

The 37-year-old was arrested following a CCTV appeal regarding the incident which occurred during the Premiership match on Sunday 1 September.

The Old Firm derby was held at Celtic Park with only home fans present inside the stadium.

Police made an appeal last week as they sought to track down a man they believed could help with their investigations.

On Friday, the force confirmed that an arrest had been made in connection with the appeal.

A statement from Police Scotland said: “Following our CCTV appeal regarding an incident at the Celtic and Rangers football match, a man has been arrested and charged.

“A 37-year-old player was arrested and charged with culpable and reckless behavior in the match on Sunday 1 September.

“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
