CM Sukhu announces 4 percent DA for 3.50 lakh State employees and pensioners

Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) (India), October 11 (ANI): Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced 4 percent DA for the State employees and pensioners, benefiting 1.80 lakh employees and 1.70 lakh pensioners a from January 1, 2023, thus generating an extra burden of Rs 600 million per year for the State treasury.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister announced that employees and pensioners will receive November salary and pension on October 28, before Deepawali.
He stated this while addressing the media here today. The Chief Minister also announced settlement of all outstanding medical bills of employees and pensioners for which a provision of Rs. 10 million have already been made. He directed the concerned departments to clear all pending medical bills this month and adequate budget will be provided to the departments for this as per their demand.

He also announced that the full amount of outstanding arrears will be paid to all pensioners over 75 years of age. He said a total of Rs 202 million would be spent this financial year on salary and pension arrears.
He also announced that an additional arrears amounting to Rs. 20 thousand for class IV employees will be released to them in this fiscal itself.
Himachal Pradesh will be self-reliant by 2027 and there has been no financial crisis propagated in the media by national and state BJP leaders. He mocked the opposition leader for spreading lies about the state’s financial situation and even misleading the prime minister and the BJP national president.
He said the BJP has left no stone unturned in spreading misinformation about the fiscal health of the State. Payment of amount due to employees including DA and arrears is a testament to the fact that the State Government was committed to addressing the grievances of its employees and there is no such financial crisis at present.
