Emma Raducanu receives a very special gift after £125k Porsche ‘taken’ | Tennis | Sport

Emma Raducanu has apparently been gifted a new car after reports that her beloved Porsche was taken away by the German manufacturer.

Raducanu became a global brand ambassador for Porsche following her incredible US Open triumph in 2021, and she was seen shortly after driving a flashy 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet worth £125,000.

Three years later, and having fallen in the world rankings, the Daily Mail claims that Raducanu no longer owns his precious set of wheels. And she was recently seen bombing her used Dacia Sandero, which she bought for just £5,000 shortly after passing her test.

Romanian carmakers Dacia have since offered Raducanu an all-new model, posting a photo of a gift-wrapped 24-plate Sandero sitting outside Wimbledon on their official X account.

The caption reads: “Dear @EmmaRaducanu, whether it’s your forehand, backhand or Sandero keys in hand – you know a thing or two about reliability. So although some brands may (double) blame and disappoint you, you can always trust your Sandero. Here’s to many more kilometers.”

During its rise to stardom in 2021, Raducanu gave Dacia a useful boost by waxing lyrical about its used engine. “My father is Romanian and a Dacia was his first car,” she told The Sun.

“So yes, I have a white Dacia Sandero. It was funny, I passed the test three days before the first lockdown and we knew it was going into lockdown so we needed to buy a car as soon as possible. -hand for £5,000, I’ll look after it and I’ll never get rid of it.

Porsche reportedly loaned Raducanu cars ‘ad hoc’, and she suggested she was back behind the wheel of another expensive machine this week, posting a photo of herself on Instagram with ‘GTS’ visible on the headrests behind her.

The 21-year-old has not competed since retiring from the Korean Open quarterfinal against Daria Kasatkina on September 21. The Hong Kong Tennis Open is the last tour event available for Raducanu to compete in this season, before the Billie Jean King Cup Finals in Malaga.

“I don’t think I’ll ever be the player who plays in about 30 events a year,” she said earlier this summer. “I don’t think that’s my style – it never has been. I’m not in a big rush to play a lot. I’d rather focus on the tournaments and be ready to play the tournaments I’m in.”
